Nutcracker - LA Unbound

While we aren’t able to produce a traditional dance production this fall, we are step-pivoting into a new and exciting form of dance performance with our first ever virtual show: “Nutcracker in the Land of Screens.”

This show is a fun and unique way to participate in a holiday performance while staying safe at home. Submissions are open to dancers ages 18+ of ALL styles and experience levels, from anywhere around the world. Click here to submit to dance in the show! All submissions are due by Friday, September 4th. There will also be several kids’ pieces in the show, and kids can participate by signing up through our kids studio, Unbound Dance Studio.

All dancers need to participate is:
> internet access at home
> a little space to move around
> the ability to film yourself doing the dance(s) in November

Rehearsals will run on Zoom from September through November, at which point dancers will submit their videos. The editing process will happen in the beginning of December, followed by a premiere on YouTube the week before Christmas.

Participating dancers will receive:
> weekly zoom rehearsals with their cast
> pre-recorded tutorial videos to practice with
> unlimited invites to the online premiere watch party in December
> a digital copy of the show after it premieres

There is no fee required to participate in the show. However, we are asking for an optional $10 donation from each dancer to cover the cost of professional video editing. Your donation can be submitted via Venmo (to @la-unbound) or PayPal (to
