Calling all dancers! Auditions for the next LA Unbound show are coming up:

Sunday, February 19th
3:30-7:00pm
Studio A Dance
2306 Hyperion Ave.
Los Angeles, CA 90027

Please arrive at least 15 minutes early to sign in and warm up. For information about how auditions work and a video clip from past auditions, please read this post.

We are looking for dancers of ALL styles and ALL experience levels! The show will include many styles from ballet to hip-hop and everything in between! Performances will be held on Saturday, May 5th at the El Portal Theatre in North Hollywood.

Here is some additional information about our Nutcracker Unbound performance:

The show begins at 5pm on Sunday, December 11th and will be over by 7:30pm. There is only one performance.
The Wilshire Ebell Theatre is located at 4401 W. 8th St. in Los Angeles. There will be limited street parking as well as a parking lot adjacent to the theatre for a $5 fee.
If you purchased your tickets on our website or tix.com, please bring a print-out of your ticket. If you purchased your tickets on goldstar.com or bloomspot.com, please bring a print-out of your purchase confirmation. If you forget your print-out, we will still be able to seat you, it will just take slightly longer.
Will Call will close at 4:50pm, PLEASE BE ON TIME!
Tickets for the show are SOLD OUT.

THE NUTCRACKER UNBOUND is coming to you on December 11, 2011 for a new, exciting & fun twist on the classic. Featuring over 75 experienced dancers, more than 50 students from Sophie Dance, professional aerialists, circus artists, and a magician, this talented cast will be dancing to remixed music from the original Tchaikovsky score in a plethora of styles including jazz, tap, contemporary, hip hop, ballet, aerial hoop, contortion, and acrobatic dance! The company’s directors and choreographers are teaming up with innovative costume designers, music master-minds, hair & make-up artists and set designers to bring to life a fascinating & unique, never-before-seen Nutcracker. Presented to you by LA UNBOUND at the historic Wilshire Ebell Theatre in Los Angeles, this incredible collaboration within the Los Angeles artistic community is a Nutcracker you won’t find your dad dozing off to!

We’re bringing back a few of our dance class favorites for one night only! Get ready for Nutcracker auditions with a night of dance, friends, fun, and wine.

Sunday, Sept. 11 at Sophie Dance
310 S. LaBrea Ave. in Los Angeles

7-8pm – 90′s Rock & Roll Ballet with Betsy
Pump up the jam by doing your plies and pirouettes to all the best one-hit-wonders of the 90′s.
8-9pm – Moody Moves Contemporary with Maritza
An open contemporary class for movers and shakers who want to wiggle their cares out. We’ll stretch out to calmness, dance out our worries and sweat out the rest to a soundtrack of moody rock.
9-10pm – Unstripped Hip-Hop with Brandi
Sass and Funk it up in a dance that combines the attitude of burlesque and the moves of hip hop.

All experience levels welcome! Classes are $10 each (cash or check) and all proceeds will go towards our upcoming Nutcracker Unbound show!

Auditions are for our upcoming show, The Nutcracker Unbound, which will be performed on Sunday, December 11th at the Wilshire Ebell Theatre in Los Angeles. This will be an updated version of the holiday classic, with remixed music and many different styles of dance, including hip-hop, tap, swing, jazz, contemporary, ballet, and more. As always, we are looking for dancers of ALL styles and ALL experience levels!
